It all began with the desire for experiencing the Argentinean culture and lifestyle. I just wanted to see how people in Buenos Aires live, how they communicate and what they love.
This expectation seemed to be almost impossible. Normally as a stranger, without knowing anyone it is really hard to experience the real life in Argentina, especially if you have just a few weeks to travel.
So what I expected was kind of exaggerated. But now, after my five weeks stay in Buenos Aires with Fabiana and her very lovely family I did not only learn very fast Castellano de Argentina, but also saw what it means to be Argentinean. I had the chance to live in a really beautiful and lovely place with people I really adore and admire. Fabiana was not only a really good teacher but the best tourist guide I could imagine. She showed me all the alternative places and took me to events, which were completely unknown by tourists. She has always been interested in my person and in my interests. She works with passion.
But for me more important is that I won a really good friend, who always is going to be welcome in my house no matter where, no matter when.
A Spanish course with Fabiana was more than just a Spanish lesson. The time was definitely an unforgettable and precious experience.

My six weeks of being in Argentina and four weeks of studying Spanish have been a wonderful experience. I still am not bilingual, but have learned much.If I could spend six months or a year here, I might accomplish that. Just listening to people on the street, reading signs and advertisements, and hearing Spanish on the radio have helped quite a bit.
The Argentine people are very congenial and helpful, and will try to determine your needs. Most speak far better English than my meagre Spanish.
Fabiana has been a very good teacher and also helpful in planning trips and especially in the day to day routine of getting from one place to another, which is no small thing when one is totally new to a foreign city of this size. Through her I have learned to navigate the train system and also the subte network.
I especially liked staying in an apartment while here and away from the center of the city; commuting by train almost every day to the center or some other points of interest; of course, also by subte. I believe I was the only non-argentinian living in the building. All of this made me feel almost like a native. Shopping for food in local markets and eating in some local restaurants and cafés also made me feel at home.
I will miss Argentina and Buenos Aires very much. And, of course, I will miss Fabiana, Pablo and Julia.

My initial plans to travel to Buenos Aires included finding a private Spanish tutor. I was very fortunate in having a friend recommend “Buenos Aires Spanish, run by Fabiana.
All of the details: the number of hours per week, the homestay, the arrival and departure dates were all confirmed before leaving home. Money transactions were completed via Pay Pal, with the balance paid
on the first day of class. All went very smoothly. My sister, Wendy, and I each had one hour of instruction for one week, before we left for Uruguay for two weeks. Wendy returned to Canada and I to my room in Eva’s home and to classes in Fabiana’s studio. During the next month, we discussed Argentinian history and culture, the unique Lunfardo, and current events in the capitol. I previewed movies, which we then discussed from both a language and cultural viewpoint. I completed written, activities on verb usage (my main weakness) read short stories by Argentinian authors and filled a notebook with new vocabulary. The studio was a great place to have the classes, as all resources were at Fabiana’s fingertips: from websites to dictionaries, novels to magazines. It also gave me an opportunity to meet her husband Pablo and their daughter Julia and to learn the ritual of drinking Mate. Thanks to Fabiana’s many suggestions, I explored hidden corners of the city.
My home during the stay was with Eva, an energetic and charming hostess. Her apartment, right in the heart of Belgrano, had the advantage of being very close to a train line, making travel to the centre and to the bus terminal very accessible. I had a private room that included a half bath. Breakfast was ready every morning and there was plenty of space to store any food for other meals.
So, if your travel plans to Buenos Aires include studying Spanish, and decide to choose “Buenos Aires Spanish” you can be assured that the level of instruction will be of the highest quality.

First of all, I would like to thank Fabiana and her family for the great time I spent in Buenos Aires.
Buenos Aires Spanish is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the rich culture and everyday life of this amazing city.
Fabiana’s very personal approach to the language lessons was impressive. I’m a beginner in Castellano. However, during our classes, we were discussing rather complicated topics, particularly interesting for me, so that I was highly motivated to enhance my vocabulary and improve my grammar skills.
Also it was really interesting to learn about special features of Argentinian dialect, which Fabiana so clearly explained. She is a very professional teacher, who really loves the subject and the process of teaching. It is indeed a pity that due to my work I could only take a 2-week course and I will definitely proceed with online classes.
The accommodation was excellent: very conveniently located, cozy and I had everything that I needed. I’m really grateful to Maggie, who made me feel like at home.
All in all, I can say the Buenos Aires Spanish is the best option in case you want to see the real, not touristic, life of Buenos Aires and even to become a part of it for some time.

Before traveling to Buenos Aires, I had studied Spanish for 11 months, but not in a "traditional" way: reading and listening Spanish texts on the Web, not paying attention to grammar. So I wanted to take advantage of my short stay in Buenos Aires (one week) to improve my Spanish. I was about to enroll at one of those typical schools (where you can attend a course with a group of foreign students and where you spend most of the time speaking English) when I saw Fabiana`s page and Buenos Aires Spanish.
I liked her school description at first sight, because it promised to be a unique experience. And, in fact, from my first minute in Buenos Aires, everything went on as I was expecting. Fabiana lodged me at a very beautiful house, with very nice hosts and a very domestic atmosphere. The neighborhood was nice and safe, and I had everything I needed very near my house. I had many chats with my host, and I was very happy to use my Spanish in authentic situations.
Fabiana`s Spanish lessons were great! She is a full experienced teacher, so she can easily identify weak points in her students and design a program according to their needs. However, what I liked most was her way to explain the grammar rules. I usually ask many questions about grammar: why?, how?, and why not like this?... and I like clear and precise explanations. Fabiana clarified so many doubts about Spanish grammar! She also was very patient with my crazy plan about doing everything in a week: to learn Spanish, but also to see the most I could in Buenos Aires.
It was a pity that I`d not had more time. I hope in the future I`ll have more oportunities to work with Fabiana online, or even one more time in Buenos Aires.

With so many Spanish schools to choose from in Buenos Aires I decided to register with Fabiana for a variety of reasons. Not only does she offer personalized instruction with materials and content appropriate to each student’s level and interest, she provides comfortable and convenient accommodation with local families who have a genuine interest in hosting foreign students. She is also supportive of individual student needs. I went to Buenos Aires with my five year old daughter and needed her to be cared for while I studied for three hours per day. Fabiana was able to coordinate everything perfectly so that I didn’t have to worry about my daughter and could devote my attention to the lessons.
My two week course focussed on language acquisition through cultural themes. As I developed my skills I learned about the origins of tango and lunfardo, the Perons and Argentine politics, current events and porteño culture, and important figures in Argentine art, sport, music and literature including Diego Maradona, Carlos Gardel and Jorge Luis Borges.
Besides helping me improve my Spanish, Fabiana met us at the airport, got us to our homestay, took us on an outing to El Caminito, invited us to an evening musical performance, and suggested appropriate excursions for my daughter and I. Overall our experience in Buenos Aires was positive and memorable thanks to the efforts and support of Fabiana and her family. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her to others who plan to study in this amazing and often overwhelming city.

We really enjoyed six weeks studying Spanish with Fabiana.
Fabiana tailored a Spanish program to perfectly meet our level of proficiency and our length of stay in Buenos Aires. While in Buenos Aires we spent most mornings with Fabiana, where she helped us to steadily improve our knowledge and fluency in Spanish.
In the afternoons, with Fabiana’s expert guidance, we set about experiencing all the sites and entertainment that Buenos Aires has to offer. Fabiana suggested activities and destinations not covered by the guidebooks and this really helped make the time we had in Buenos Aires a special experience.
Buenos Aires Spanish is conveniently located, only a short train ride out of the city in an attractive leafy suburb and is a fabulous place to study for students looking for intimate classes tailored to their own special needs.

Buenos Aires Spanish is the perfect individualized language immersion experience. I had one week to spend in Buenos Aires and enjoyed every bit of it. I felt my knowledge of Spanish improve exponentially, and I also was able to have the cultural experience I was looking for.
There is nothing like the opportunity to learn a language through one-on-one instruction with a highly experienced teacher. Fabiana provides customized teaching to suit your abilities and incorporates a variety of exercises to help with both expressive and receptive language. I had so much fun learning that every day. I was surprised at the end of class that 3 hours had gone by!
Thanks to Fabiana, I was able to experience the history and culture of Buenos Aires in a manner that matched my interests, instead of having to conform to pre-packaged tourist expeditions. I greatly valued volunteering at a soup kitchen and spending time at different sites honoring the memory of the Dissappeared: those tortured and killed during Argentina´s dictatorship 30 years ago. These experiences added deep meaning to my time here. It was wonderful to have this kind of help from Fabiana in making my entire stay very valuable.
I highly recommend this Spanish program. From the classes to the homestay with local families, you feel very welcomed during your time.

We stayed with Fabiana for 17 days, during which time we had 3 lessons per week. The Spanish classes were extremely well prepared and tailored to our needs, and we found Fabiana patient and helpful at all times.
She also made a great effort to give us information about other local activities and we managed to go to several other places and events it would have otherwise been impossible to access as tourists.
As such we were privelaged to have more of an insight into the life here in Buenos Aires than would have normally been possible. We were also delighted to have been included in some family parties so that even after our short stay, our language and confidence had certainly improved.
The accommodation was in a very comfortable appartment next door to Fabiana with a roof terrace offering views over Buenos Aires. Coghlan is a quiet and safe residential suburb with very easy access to the city centre.
We would not hesitate to recommend Fabiana as an excellent Spanish teacher and great introduction to Argentinian life.

I am Braidy, and I studied Spanish in Fabiana's classes for two weeks. Without a doubt, I know it was worth it!! Classes were less conventional; we basically sat for two hours every day just to talk, but I could feel my Spanish improve greatly from day to day. If you have the chance, you should most definitely study with Buenos Aires Spanish.
Fabiana is not only a great Spanish teacher, but also very fun to be around. I can be shy when it comes to speaking in Spanish because I don't like sounding foolish when I make mistakes, but this was never an issue. Her patience and kind way of teaching created the perfect environment for me to learn. I also found a family to live with through Buenos Aires Spanish, which I STRONGLY recommend to anyone interested in viewing the actual culture of Buenos Aires, not just what has been commercialized for tourists.

Since I retired from my scientific research position nine years ago at the age of 65, I did a lot of travelling.
My knowledge of languages (English, German and French) proved to be very helpful but less so in Central- and South America. So I decided to dedicate some of my time to learning Spanish although retaining new vocabulary is very difficult at my age. My decision to spend a month in Buenos Aires as part of this exercise turned out to be very beneficial with full immersion and family contact during home stay. Now I plan to continue to draw on Fabiana’s teaching with the help of Skype.
Buenos Aires Spanish in the person of Fabiana, who speaks with exceptionally clear diction, provided excellent Spanish tuition, accommodation to my own taste and a wealth of local knowhow. All of this greatly enriched my stay in Buenos Aires.

I spent eight weeks between September and November 2009 learning with Fabiana at Buenos Aires Spanish in Buenos Aires and was very impressed.
She was able to teach me the Spanish which I needed to know at a pace and in a way which suited me. It was not done according to any script as some of the major language schools will do. If you are interested in a tailor-made language course which involves predominantly spoken practice but also some written work then Buenos Aires Spanish is an excellent option & better value than the majority of the language schools.
Quite apart from the actual language, Fabiana and her family made me feel very welcome and helped me to learn about the city in which I lived. She was keen to introduce me to a number of cultural events happening and point out things worth doing, many of which were free of charge. She also was very helpful in organising accommodation which was friendly, traditional and very good value.
If you want a factory line product where you show up, perform the exercises and then leave, Buenos Aires Spanish is not for you. If you want to learn a language according to your needs and experience a great deal more than just classroom education, I would very much recommend Fabiana. If in doubt, I would be pleased to answer any queries by email.

When we arrived at Buenos Aires Aiport, Fabiana was there to meet us, taking us directly to our apartment.
The location is excellent, a short train journey into the centre and close to all the amenities. Fabiana was always on hand and she made sure we had everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay.
The Spanish lessons were very enjoyable and a diverse variety of teaching methods were employed. Fabiana`s enthusiastic and patient approach was just what we needed.
Buenos Aires is a beautiful city with lots to see and rich in culture. In all, our experience of Buenos Aires has been very positive and we are very sorry to be leaving.

I decided to take a sabbatical from work and travel around SA for 3 months however my Spanish was very limited, basically HOLA and DOS CERVEZA POR FAVOR – that was it! I got Fabiana’s details online and started communicating about potential lessons. She came across as extremely professional, friendly, helpful and articulate.
Fabiana organised my first 2 weeks in Buenos Aires, met me on arrival at the airport and arranged for me to stay with a lovely family in a beautiful house very close to all amenities.
We started our lessons on day 1, it was difficult to begin with but lessons were fun and with everyday I felt more and more confident. The lessons were structured in such a way that it was easy to learn. Fabiana’s passion for her native language is apparent and I feel very privileged that she taught me for 3 hours every day for 2 weeks! She has the patience of a saint!
Along with lessons, I was invited to a family BBQ (asado) and to an open air concert which was a great experience.
These 2 weeks gave me the confidence to travel around SA and it was amazing when people could understand what you were saying or asking! Even better to be able to communicate and understand what people said to you!
I have since returned to London and have engaged in more Spanish classes, I love the language and one day with any luck, I will speak fluently – all thanks to Fabiana!
BUENA SUERTE Y BESOS!

My name is Lee Stanton, and I have been studying Spanish with Fabiana Sordi for the past month. I have studied Spanish for the past 5 years at either a university or an immersion-style program, but I have yet to find a program as effective as Ms. Sordi’s. I was very lucky to have found “Buenos Aires Spanish” on the internet. Ms. Sordi and I were in agreement from the beginning. I knew that I would probably use more of my first language, English, than Spanish in another classroom environment. Her teacher/student lessons provided faster, more effective learning for me.
I knew I wanted to, needed to, improve my ability to listen and understand spoken Spanish. I explained my goal to Ms. Sordi and she created a program for me to improve this important communication skill. Additionally, she worked with me to build my vocabulary, broaden my knowledge of idiomatic phrases, and correct misunderstandings I’ve had about Spanish for many years. She helped me understand and use correctly the things that challenge most people who study Spanish: “por and para”; “ser and estar”, preterit and imperfect", etc.I think the Buenos Aires Spanish program is more effective because the lessons are conversational instead of the rote practice exercises you often find in classroom settings.
Over and beyond regular classroom lessons, she helped me learn about the city, how to get around, and planned experiences where I would not only be able to practice my new skills but learn about the culture and daily life of people in Buenos Aires. She planned guided tours of museums and historical sites, concerts, tango lessons, and gave me tips on dining and shopping.
Everything was planned and organized according to my interests. She also planned a family get together that made the whole Buenos Aires Spanish experience more personal and meaningful to me.
I am very grateful to Fabiana, her family, friends, and Buenos Aires Spanish for an unforgettable experience in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I have taken group language lessons in Spain and one-on-one instructions in Mexico. Fabiana’s program far exceeds my experience with any of these other language schools. If a person is serious about learning Spanish and getting to know something about the culture of Argentina, then this is a great value. And besides all of this, you get to do it in a beautiful and interesting city. So, what’s there not to like about this deal?
Last year, I decided to visit Argentina for nine weeks in the Spring of 2013. Although three groups of friends planned to join me in Argentina at different times during my stay, I still had sufficient time available to improve my rather limited Spanish language skills. I decided that “Buenos Aires Spanish” offered a program that was appealing. I arrived with high hopes and quickly found that Fabiana’s teaching ability and program of instruction exceeded my expectations.
Fabiana is a very gifted teacher of Spanish. She is quite sensitive to the language abilities and limitations of her students (in my case, considerable limitations), and she targeted my specific areas of weakness (a target rich environment for sure) by using various teaching aids, of which she seemed to have a large supply. I found her to be patient and very perceptive of my needs. She teaches standard Spanish as well as the Argentina variants, and her fluency in English helped me to quickly understand the meanings of words and phrases when I couldn’t grasp them in Spanish. In addition, I got to know something about the cultural and artistic aspects of the country, and she was very helpful in my efforts to understand the Buenos Aires transportation system and find things to do and see.
